Claude Monet is perhaps the most well-known of all the Impressionist painters. Early in his career he was influenced by Boudin and Jongkind, but in 1862 he began an association with Renoir, Sisley and Bazille that was to revolutionize art. He painted many series of works, including La Gare St-Lazare, poplars, haystacks, the Rouen Cathedral and his famous water-lilies.
